I love black cars, but not the work keeping them pristine.

There is a reason that there are so many grey/silver vehicles around, they do not show the dirt in the same way.

That polishing job is a credit to you though...........;)

Blacks defo a 'mare to keep clean. I used to wash my old black mk4 every week because it showed every little bit of dirt. But can't beat black for some lovely reflections

I opted for a reflex sliver 'ran which hides the dirt much better.....wash it every other week :D

Shak....just another quick question. I've taken a look at the front plate and there does seem like theres much space between the plate and the recess. Have you used tape or drilling the front surround to the bumper? and did it fit in nice a snug or does it sit on top of the recess?

the surrounds are a perfect fit for the tourans and there are plenty of holes on the surrounds for screws . i used double sided sticky pads and added 4 screws in each corner and they are a perfect fit.

Looks good, get some Wax next, 476 is good, Dodo juice is very good and it's easy on and off as well.
Could use it after SRP, super resin polish. You'll see the difference.

I haven't used megs products for a while now.....apart from their foam pads and MF. What have you had for christmas?

There's a lot of products out there now for different paint colours, but I'm not sure if it's just some gimmick.

You'll have to let us all now how the products go.

I'm also a big fan of 476's...can't beat it on reflex silver and it's durability B)

That's quite a bit!!!!! you must have been good all year.

To get loads of good tips make sure you pop on detailingworld.co.uk. The guys on there will get you spending even more.

When you get the bug you'll have to interest in things other then megs.

My top two favs are Dodo's Born to Be Mild Shampoo and colly 476's wax

Have fun detailing :D

Thats a nice set of products there, I have got myself some goodies over the Xmas period, including a Kestrel Rotary polisher, full set of 6" and 3" pads, 3M fast cut plus and ultrafina polishes, clay, shampoo etc plus some Valentines Road and Track wax, so am really pleased, done a coupel of test panels on our solid black new beetle and th results are excellent so far, the Touran is a bit swirly from the dealer prep 12 months ago so will be hitting that in the spring, get that looking good.

All bought after being on Detailing World for 12 months!!! You get the bug from that site toooooo easily!!

I have personally found the Megs range good, but the quality of the products a bit hit and miss, for example I use there Shampoo Plus which I think is excellent and dilutes really well so only a tiny bit used in my wash bucket, and the last touch is good, but there spray wax personally I find poor, there wheel brush I dont find that good, but its all horses for courses I suppose, we all have our favourite products.
VW Touran - 2009 - 58 plate - TDI 'SE' - Biscay Blue - Window Tints - Protection Pack :D

Wife - VW Beetle - 2002 - 52 plate - VW New Beetle - 2.3 V5 Sport Edition - Solid Black - Keeps her indoors happy!

Other vehicle, Bristol VR - 1981 W plate - 74 Seats - Fully Restored Double Deck Bus :D:D
